RCBO

RCBO Manufacturer — 1P+N 18mm Residual Current Breakers with Overcurrent Protection

TPKELE RCBOs combine earth leakage protection and MCB overload / short-circuit protection in a single 18mm DIN-rail module. The TPL6-40 series is a 1P+N double-break RCBO rated 1A–40A at 230V AC with 6kA breaking capacity, B / C trip curves and 10 / 30 / 50 / 100 mA residual sensitivity in Type A or Type AC. Built to IEC 61009-1 for one-RCBO-per-circuit switchboards — the layout now standard in Australia and New Zealand — and supplied to distributors, switchboard builders and private-label brands.

  • RCD + MCB in one 18mm module — 1P+N double break
  • 1A–40A rated current, B / C trip curves, 230V AC
  • 6kA short-circuit breaking capacity, 100% service breaking (Ics = Icn)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an RCBO and an RCCB?

An RCCB (RCD) only detects earth leakage and has no overcurrent protection, so it must be paired with MCBs. An RCBO combines residual current protection with thermal-magnetic overload and short-circuit protection in one device, so each circuit gets its own leakage protection and a fault on one circuit does not trip the others.

Type A or Type AC — which should I choose?

Type AC detects sinusoidal AC residual current only. Type A also detects pulsating DC residual current produced by inverters, induction cooktops, LED drivers, variable-speed appliances and EV chargers. Type A is the safer default for modern installations and is increasingly specified in Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

Which residual current rating do I need?

30 mA is the standard for personal protection on final circuits. 10 mA is used for special locations such as medical areas and some wet locations. 50 mA and 100 mA are used for equipment or fire protection where personal protection is provided elsewhere.

Can the RCBO be used on EV charger circuits?

Yes — a Type A RCBO can protect an EV charger circuit when the charger has built-in 6 mA DC residual current detection (RDC-DD). Where the charger has no DC detection, a Type B device or a Type A RCBO plus a separate RDC-DD is required.

Do you support OEM branding for RCBOs?

Yes — logo printing, housing print, rating labels and packaging can be customised for distributor and brand-owner programs. Samples are available within 5–10 working days.
